STUFF TO STIR UP THE THINKER

"...[the colonialists] have deluded people into believing that the ulema of Islam are not qualified to interfere in the political and social affairs." *Ayatollah Rohollah Khomeini

"If you vote for Al smith, you're voting against Christ and you will all be damned." *Sermon, first Baptist Church in Oklahoma City September 1928

"The Supreme Court of the United States of America is an institution damned by God Almighty." *Reverend Jimmy Swaggert, in Washington D.C., February 4, 1986

"Now the catholic bishops have upped the ante, indicating that voting for a candidate with Mr. Kerry's policies could lead to eternal damnation." *Maureen Dowd, op-ed columnist in the New York Times, 10/17/04

"Majority rule only works if you're also considering individual rights. Because you can't have five wolves and one sheep voting on what to have for supper." *Larry Flynt

I salute civil rights for all human beings and I will continue to do all I can to make this happen. It takes one person and a friend to start a revolution. The revolution begins with one person and a friend; and gains momentum with us.

Why is it acceptable for politicians to dictate their versions of morality to the rest of us? Why is discrimination in respect to gender identification, sexual orientation, religion or lack of religion, class, race, disability, medical history, illness or health, and all those other characteristics that divide us still legal?

We are who we are. We are not asking your permission. We are demanding your recognition. We refuse to remain as extra-legals any longer.
